New TASKRZ record in August

The last piece of completely new music we released was Wolf Party, a year ago. We've been busy since then gigging and releasing our retrospective E.P Five Years of Fuzz. Now we're back with two new songs; Heart that Bleeds and Baby Keep Walking, the latter featuring a guest vocal from Nixon Tate.

Heart that Bleeds will be released on Wednesday 2 August via DROMA Records.

We also have a little treat to give to you before then, but more about that next week...

We're five years old today

We're five today.

It's a bit of a mental concept to swallow. We've been recording, gigging, writing, singing, making friends, get stressed, dreaming for half a decade. To celebrate we're releasing a retrospective EP called 'Five Years of Fuzz' - it's got re-recorded versions of some of our old classics.

We've had some amazing highs, some shattering lows, but we wouldn't change a thing. We're incredibly thankful to all the musicians who have played with us over the years, especially Sarah Pickwell and Jack Rennie. We'd also like to say two massive thank you's, the first one to Gary Wilcox, for believing in the band, always supporting it and making us feel part of something bigger. Secondly, we'd like to say thanks to our families for always supporting our efforts (big shout out to Adrian - who has been to more Taskers gigs than the band.)

Thank you to everyone who has come to a show, bought a CD and followed our journey. We've got lots of treats lined up over the coming weeks so stick with us.

Five Years of Fuzz Pre Order

'Five Years of Fuzz' is a retrospective EP which celebrates the first five years of The Taskers’ activity.

Pre-order it here.

The EP will be released on the 24 Feb 2017 - five years to the day since we formed. Sophie and Jack first performed together as a band in Feb 2012 in the Market Vaults (what was Joxer Bradys) supporting local rock duo Smith and Bates.

The band name was picked minutes before going on - it was never intended to stick as Sophie thought it was ‘rubbish’, but it’s stuck for the five years and she seems less fussed about it now. In five years we have fluctuated between two and five members, released eight full length albums, a number of EP, single and soundtrack releases and performed 100’s of gigs across the UK.

We're incredibly thankful to our families, friends and fans for sticking by us, coming to shows, buying CDs and singing our words back at us. We're looking forward to the next five years.

Tickets released for Brum gig on Jan 27

Tickets have been released for our first show of 2017 - Friday 27 Jan. We're playing at Dares Bar in Digbeth. There's plenty of great bands on, and HYENA have just been announced as the headliner - so it'll be a heavy night. Grab your ticket by clicking here.

See you there.
